Oh my, what have I done! This is it. I have entered the world of "bloggers". Am I a copy cat for starting a blog? What will I write about? How often will I write? Writing like all endeavors requires practice. As a history graduate student I need all the practice I can get. I would say this is my new year's resolution but that would make my efforts appear insincere since we all know no one keeps those anyway. So, I'll start before New Year's.
Happy last weekend of 2012! Here I am, sitting here starring at the cursor blinking impatiently, waiting on me to type something that is preferably not crap. I just wrapped up a hectic Christmas holiday and my brain is still swimming. Infact, it was swimming before Christmas. What buoys me up now when I attempt to navigate the thoughts and events of 2012 is the simple notion of happiness. (When you read the word happiness I hope that your mind is singing "happiness is..." in little Charlie Brown voices). Knowing the value of happiness just may be my best gift this season. Like writng, my real trial will be to make sure I use it this coming year.
